My name is Jeremy Baker and I spent several years living a life without a proper set of standards.
After what could be considered a tumultuous year resulting in the ending of a long relationship and an unexpected career change I decided to take a much needed period of deep reflection. During this I was able to take the time to see correlations in the difficulties I had experienced in my past at various times. I was able to make connections to what was happening, what was missing and how I dealt with it. What I came to realize was that I was consistently going down the same path and consistently getting the same results because of it. Another thing that I noticed was an uncanny knack of getting myself into situations where my work ethic and dedication to others was being taken advantage of by my employers or those I set out to help and the severe impact this had on my own quality of life. Once I was able to take an honest look at my past I was able to see that any of the seemingly bad situations I had gotten into were a direct result of actions I took, or more to the point, failed to take.
I realized that what it comes down to is this: If you don’t set your own rules for life, your own standards, you will forever be doomed to live by someone elses.
With that said, thestandardsofliving.com is all about sharing my experiences with setting personal standards and living up to my fullest potential and helping others to do the same. If you are ready to break free of the vicious cycle of life and to stop making the same mistakes over and over, please join me on this adventure. I promise I will do my best to keep it interesting and informative and to be a basecamp to your climb out of the doldrums of life and into the greatness that awaits you.
